Meet the Folders

Right from the moment I decided to add cranes to represent the Iraqis who lost their lives, I knew I was going to be expanding the project. It was now a community project. And, frankly, that was appealing to me. It says that there is a community of people who are engaged in conveying this message. I always knew that the project was bigger than me, and this just confirms it. The energy of an army of folders would add a whole new dimension to the project.

I want to begin to introduce the folders here,....let them step out of the shadows, and a take a bow. And, be able to offer a very public "Thank you!" for their efforts.

One of the first people to step forward to volunteer their help was Kathi Gose. Kathi is a polymer clay artist from southern California. Meet Kathi.

1. How long have you been folding cranes? Three months. Maybe.

2. Who taught you how to fold cranes? Self-taught.

3. Why did you decide to fold cranes for this project? Because it needs to be done. Being on disability means I can't donate a lot of money to the project but I sure can fold waxed paper cranes!
4. Is there anything else you would like to mention? I am honored to be allowed to help in this project. Thank you Judy for initiating it!

So, how cool is that? Kathi taught herself how to fold cranes, just so she could contribute to this project. Thank you Kathi, your contributions are appreciated by me, and will be appreciated by those who are able to view the final project. Kathi will be selling some polymer clay cranes as well, and donating the funds from those sales to the project. I think I need to clone her....
